Am I correct in assuming that there was not a whole lot of retouching done on this? Her skin is so detailed with pores and hairs. A lot of folks apply a heavy hand when doing that, but this is so natural looking. Beautiful work.

Thanks! Actually, honestly, there is a fair amount of retouching work. I just retouch without using blur filters or anything like that. I go in with a pen tablet and a little brush in photoshop and detail lighten all of the dark spots and darken all of the little highlights. It keeps the texture but still smooths the complexion because you are evening out the light on the face without destroying texture. I'm glad you commented though because keeping it looking pretty real is the goal

They say that the best officiated games are the ones in which you don't notice the referees. I suppose that the best retouching work is when you don't know it's there.
