For my Ceramic Sculpture class in Spring 2010 our first project was to make three tiles of some form of sea life. I chose the sea horses cousin, the leafy sea dragon. I guess I also chose giant kelp as well. The three different ways of creating the tiles were low relief realism, texture, and stylization. This tile was the first in the series. The texture one was just whipped up in a hurry and the stylized one was done as a relief of everything in basic shapes with texture. I'm not to fond of the second and third so they will not be posted. I have the option to color this piece but with red clay its best I experiment with the second tile for a while before I choose how if I ever decide to do so.
