Year 2100. The museum is open. People from around the world come to see the last tree. This tree stands alone as a protected piece of our past. A past which stands in contrast to our current world. Many have never witnessed nature in this inverted world, where nature is preserved and protected inside this building. We stand here in awe of the monument that opposes our built environment. Times have changed. Our world has changed. We hear stories from older generations that nature used to ‘thrive out there’. The landscape now remains toxic and I stand here thinking about what our world could have been if our species acted on the changing climate earlier.
