very cool look to this. what kind of wood was it? almost looks like partical board because of all the crazy shapes and whatnots. great experiment and colors used

that's crackle paste that never crackled actually... the wood is shaped like a shallow box, so it's shaped like a regular canvas, nothing special.

always wanted to start body painting. there are some hot canvases out there.
most are done with airbrush but i think i would have to do it with finger paints.
any women out there that will let me practice

I'm debating if I like the etchy texture or not. Part of me thinks it looks like an sandy ancient tablet, and then reminds me of the Mummy. Which I really like because back when I was a dorky elementary school kid I was into really Egyptian mythology. Well, I still am a dork but that's beside the point. Mmm, on the other hand it reminds me of my imaging class, but we don't need to get into that.

egyptian mythology is cool shit. i'm glad this reminds you of it.
what do you do in imaging class?

Well we had to do stuff in photoshop and that texture you have up there reminds me of this filterring project that I should've gotten a higher grade on but my teahcer was kind of an interesting person in the respect that he graded in an abnormally harsh way and ... that class was quite an experience, let me tell you.

yeah, it was fun. just incredibly challenging
I'm still going onto the next one though.

I'd be interested in seeing how it looks without the Photoshop effects.

nicktheartisticfreak In reply to The-Mirrorball-Man [2007-02-10 18:42:14 +0000 UTC]

the same but grainier. all a did was smooth it out a bit and adjust contrast. by doing that it looks closer to how it looks in person.

That's interesting... using a computer to get closer to reality...

yeah, it's unfortunate that scanners don't see things the way we do. in some ways using a camera with controlled lighting would be a better way to go.

mmh, too much pixels... a bit overpowered, ya know ?

gold paint is hard to scan. but yeah, too grainy.
