I like the out-of-focus clouds, they definitely give the whole piece a feeling of immensity...the point of view is also strong, almost like looking up in the sky...strong diagonals give it a nice sense of movement as well...good stuff man

Because the clouds are blurry it seems like the distance between them and the figure is huge and makes me feel like I'm watching a tiny figure flying efortlessly between massive mountains of clouds. That feeling is What I enjoy in this picture. The colors also set the mood to very pleasurable.

wow, it makes so much more sense with the background. i'm not sure if i like the blurriness of the clouds in juxtaposition with the sharpness of the figure but no doubt it looks more put together.

Tonight I'm reorganising my desk (this is actually a pretty big task) so that I can more easily set things out to write and do up boards. Let me know if you prefer the descriptions like I've just uploaded versus drawn storyboards.

you know, i like both. i don't know what you prefer. if i had to choose the storyboards seem more complete. i could always draw a quick storyboard from that to see if anything need be changed.

Righto, I'll do both then: prepare a story board and write the descriptions just so we know the dimensions of each panel.
My books came yesterday (Making and Understanding Comics, both by Scott McCloud) and I've been devouring them. Later this week I'll be buying a drafting table so that I can draw all the lines etc. more neatly and just so I can have a space where I know that I'm meant to be doing something and I won't be distracted. Next week I'll be in Sydney to see NIN so I won't be able to do a lot of stuff over there, but once I get back I'll be right back into it.
I was also thinking that if you wanted I could give you a call to discuss all this stuff, get a better handle on what each of us is about. I think it'd be good to get it moving along. Whaddya reckon?
