Lurdes starred at the geode for what felt like the 20-somethingish time that morning. She has come back to the Crystal Caverns to contemplate it (it wasn't safe around her brothers at home, even in her own
little converted pool house, her middle siblings didn't seem to understand privacy), and it really hadn't changed since last night. She didn't really know why she expected it to do, but it gave the sense that it was supposed to do SOMETHING. Maybe it was the egg shaped appearance, with those cracks. Perhaps that should concern her, but she just wanted to do as Amethyst Dragon had asked, and "Take good care of it." She had set it in a blanket on the dresser in her room in the Caverns, and Frankie had stared at it with her, before Frankie took a pull on her beer, shrugged, and admitted this was too boring and left. She moved her finger down the crack near the top and thought about how geodes and thunder eggs always had treasure inside them. "Okay, maybe you'll be worth the wait, whatever you are."
