Well, since I haven't seen northern lights before it was probably the most stunning night I've spend photographically. The sky was absolutely bananas.

There are many reasons, although I have to admit that it is already pretty crowded even in September, depending on the spot you're at.

I use a Nikon D800, for night shots I would rather recommend a Nikon D610 or Sony Alpha 7s when it comes to high ISO or if you need an APSC crop body a Pentax K-3 II.
