Description So...

I watched The Dark Knight last Thursday with my best friend and my sister and... I just can't express with words what a flawless work of art this film truly is. "A perfect ten. An eleven even" I told a friend and mark my words.
I usually go to the movies unbiased, even if I'm about to watch a movie based upon a character I dearly love, just to let the actors and the director tell their tale; later, I can judge wether I liked it or not, based upon the way they told their story. With this film, I was a 10-year-old again. I had loved Batman Begins so much that I just expected Chistopher Nolan, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Michael Cane, Aaron Eckhart and everyone in the film to blow me away. And they did. In every possible way.

As I stated, this movie is a true work of art: from the brilliant performances of every actor in it (Ledger most of all) to the most sublime way it is paced and filmed by Mr. Nolan. After watching it, I was literally breathless and I came home to find my hand paying tribute to it in the only way I can convey my feelings when I'm at a loss for words. To me, true art generates more art, and this film has generated this desire in me to create, to depict what I felt sitting in that cinema for whatever the movie's length was (which is unnoticeable!).
I hope this does it some justice... my hat is off to this movie, the best I've seen in a long time.

Go watch it. I'll do it again this week.

Heh, heh... don't worry, mate! There are no spoilers in my comments, just because I really don't feel like spoiling it to anyone and even if you hear anything it won't compare to the real thing. The experience of watching it is a thousand times better than anyone can tell you.
And thank you for the compliments! I was afraid I might **ck up, being my first try wth these characters, but the movie inspired me to do a good job.

You weren’t kidding. I finally saw it, and I couldn’t believe the amount of depth and awe this movie had. β€œSome men just want to watch the world burn,” is going down as one of my favorite quotes in movie history. I just hope I didn't miss any extra bits that might have shown after the credits.

Oh, you didn't, mate; I saw it twice already and stayed for the whole length of the credits just in case.
I'm glad you agree with me and yes, there's many, many lines that are going down as priceless bits in this one.

ΒΏDeprimido?

Β‘Me cuesta esperar!

"-but I couldn't see, that the joke was on me" I love that song. Yes Nicolas, we share an identical music collection

I never liked the Joker, reading the comics and watching the tv show, his psychosis was just something my personality couldn't handle. Not to mention Jack's performance in the old Batman movie terrified me when I was little.

But I really enjoy the way you draw Batman, I'd love to see more of that
Great job Nic !

My reference is to the cover by Faith No More to be more prcise, heh, heh... and yes, we'd have a blast listening to music together, Tina!
The Joke, I completely agree on his psychotic behaviour, but that's just what the character is. Pure madness; I think you should watch the new movie (if you haven't already) nonetheless. It'll scare you, yes, even more than whatever performance you've seen so far, but on the whole, it is just a masterpiece.

Thank you for the compliments! It's actually my first time drawing the Batan, even though I've been a fan of him since I was a rascal. I was always scared of the character and felt too big for my skills, but after watching the movie I just HAD to do something with al that excitement.

Ah, I'm not sure about seeing the movie, everyone has been wanting to drag me into the theaters because of it, it's starting to get on my nerves a bit...quite frankly I'd rather see Hellboy2 again >_>;

This movie was incredible.
I`ve seen it twice already, once opening night at midnight and once yesterday, and I`m going again to see it in IMAX as soon as tickets are available.
It only gets better with each time you see it.

Amazing drawing, by the way. I love your style and how you portrayed him. ^^

It is an amazing and breathtaking movie (wow, I used the word "breathtaking" again!). Three times? I think I miht have to follow your example, m'lady! I bet you get all these little details you didn't quite see before when you see it again...

Thank you for the compliments on my style; it's my first time drawing Batman and the Joker and I'm glad they came out well.

Nic.-

PS.. If you pardon my mentioning such a thing on a public comment: you have really beautiful eyes! I stared at them quite amazed. I'll take a good look through your gallery more thoroughly for sure.

that's so awesome! the dark knight is a truly amazing movie, especially ledger's performance as the joker. i loved that scene where the newsreader is reading from the joker's cards, and he's like 'if you don't kill him i'll blow up a hospital, ha ha ha ha...' and then the joker breaks in wit his insane cackle... the cards in this remind me of that

I think that scene is stuck on every person who went see the film, mainly because that's a statement on what the Joker is and will be for the rest of the film (and history henceforth). It says: "Here I am, this is who I am." in the most twisted and simple way possible. Nolan is just great with that. With making you feel a depth with just a scene.

Thank you for the compliments, mate! I'm glad you liked this one as you did the inspiration behind it!

"I'm a man of my word" That's a line from the movie actually, and when you see it you'll see what I mean... It's funny how unevenly it was screened around the world. I reckon we saw it first here in the South than, say, the UK. I'm not complaining though; I couldn't stand the wait!

Just 'good'? Well, then, I'll just have to improve with the next one... You know that I'm a sucker for hearing you say "Amazing".
