Description
Hey folks! This week was pretty intense, but it's finally over and I'll take a few minutes to show you some of the fruits of my labors before each day's toils.
As usual, the Dark Millenium isn't far from my mind when it comes to warm-ups and in this particular image, I paid homage to anotehr bit of lore I've always been fascinated by: Rogue Traders. The concept of space pirates is awesome in itself, but when you add insane ammount of skulls in cathedral-like spaceships navigating through a nightmare parallel dimension, then you really raise the bar
Depicting The Warp in pure pen and ink is quite a challenge of course, but I think I've got a pretty good hang of it by simulating its endless daemonic waves with a lot of texture and hatching.
As usual, I hope you enjoy this latest glimpse into the grim darkness of the far future and thank you for your constant support!
Nic.-

The funny thing about warp is that anything you can or can not imagine was already there for eternity.Β Β Β
Me think your classical approach on the warp theme did just the trick.Β
So a big fan of rough trader you are, hey? How do you like Kill Team models for rough trade?Β
And this for a laugh, it is an Orktober after all: Β
Travellin' through space is boring. Well, boring unless da hulk yer on is full of dem gene-sneakers, or a base fer da chaos lads wiv da spikes, or already has Boyz on it. Or if humie lootas come callin', that's always good fer a bit a sport. Or unless yer have a mutiny or two to pass da time, or unless strange fings start happenin', which dey usually do when yer out in da warp. One time we had some bloody great ugly fing come straight out of Weird Lugwort's 'ed! It butchered half da lads, that was pretty entertainin'. Come ter fink of it, space is a pretty good larf. And that's before yer find yerself a nice world ta crush!

Thank you for the kind words! I am usually loving all the latest models that GW has put out. Their quality and level of detail have improved sevenfold.

Flying through the Warp... scary doesn't do it justice. The almost-heard screams and howls from outside, the scrabble of half-formed claws against the blast shutters, the way the power comes and goes as the shields need more energy...
Excellent piece - I'd love to see a colour version!

Leave it to 40K to make FTL travel metal as hell.

Ooh, I thought she was about to enter a warp gate to... The Warp.
(Oh no...)

Β This must either be a very junior or very unlucky Rogue Trader, given the (relative) lack of overpowering bling about their person! (on a more serious note, this is a fine Mood piece with a splendidly subtle hint of the sinister lurking in local hyperspace).Β

Thank you so much, my friend! Indeed, this trader must've just started her career and is in quick pursuit of more ornaments for her persona!
