Description
"Laurie Juspeczyk: Is that what you are? The most powerful thing in the universe and you're just a puppet following a script?Doctor Manhattan: We're all puppets, Laurie. I'm just a puppet who can see the strings."
Wednesday already, folks!
And I'm keeping a good pace here with my warm-ups. I may hit my goal of doing an update-a-day finally
Laurie might not seem like a huge fan favorite, as she's always shadowed a bit by her male counterparts, but she's as integral to the tale as all its other parts of course. In fact, I'd go as far as to say she's a bit of what holds the whole 'team' together if you will. In a world driven by psychopaths and godlike beings of pure testosterone, she offers an alternative view to the whole conflict that is much cleaner; more pure. She still has her struggles and dark areas, but she manages to face them with a more emotional investment and can even move Dr. Manhattan to return to Earth's aid by plucking him out of his narrow view of humanity.
I decided to place her on Mars, to evoke the aforementioned conversation with Manhattan, arguably one of her best scenes in the comic. I had a blast drawing her costume, as I always do when rendering transparent fabric
I hope you enjoy this one as much as the others and see you tomorrow!

Aaah Silk Spectre, ever doomed to be the voice of Common Sense crying in the Wilderness; I'm just glad that she and Dan found each other despite everything.

Agreed! A very much needed voice within the context of this seminal work, might I add

I like this character, maybe because of a Polish roots and not ashamed of it in the book. Maybe that's why I did not like the film version. Latex Spectre was terrible.
Great work waiting for more.

Thank you so much! And yes, in the film it was watered down to just her basic sex appeal, but then everything was washed in that movie. Can't beat the original!
