Description
"Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the Comedian is the only thing that makes sense."Happy Thursday, folks!
It was a close shave with this update today, as work's ben keeping me VERY busy. But I did manage to get a few minutes off and to reinvigorate the hands a bit after a work session, here's the next image in the Watchmen series for this week: The Comedian.
Infamous as only he could be, Edward Blake is exquisite in his depth as with all of the characters in this opus. Alan Moore first presents us with this apparently simple cigar-chomping, fascist bastard and keeps on adding shades until you realise the guy's been fighting his own personal war over everything he believes in and while he acts like he just doesn't give a damn, that's not entirely accurate in the end. A perfect representation of the times the comic depicts, The Comedian was a blast to draw!
As usual, I hope you enjoy this one and see you tomorrow for the next installment of this series. Thank you for taking the time to watch these and feel free to comment below

Β Aaah the Comedian - never have I been so eager to see a man become the butt of his own punchline and that expression you've captured so wonderfully in the image above; really, Blake may well be the Anti-Hero I hate the most and Brother that's saying Something!Β

I made an effort to catch that smug look of his and I'm glad I was able to.

always felt he had the weirdest depths to him, despite some of the crazy brutal shit he does. Him and that Moloch villain is a bizarre yet poignant moment.Β

He represents the unbridled self-destructive nature of mankind and as such, he can be heroic and tragic at the same time. I agree that his conversation with Moloch was a very intense moment.

And sad, when you realize how lonely he clearly was in the end, to where the only person he felt any kinship with was a guy he probably beat half to death more than once.

Aw, man! What an awesome Comedian! Lol, like Saturday Morning Watchman. But, really, good job. I love this style.

Thank you very much, man! Glad it reminded you of Saturday Morning cartoons; though Watchmen would've been a bit tricky to watch with your parents and a bowl of cereal
