Description Nothing Else Matters by Metallica

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trust in who we are
And nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
And nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trust in who we are
And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know...

I Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
And nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they say
Never cared for games they play
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
And I know...

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trust in who we are
No, nothing else matters...

It’s been another week of absolute work and real life issues for me, folks, but, hopefully, things are a tad brighter.
My mood hasn’t changed much since last you read these comments in my latest illustrations, but now there’s something else intertwined with the hurt and (somewhat self-imposed) estrangement that is always good to find: a bit of hope. And hope beyond words; beyond just saying it and wishing for it. No mere illusions, but the faint feeling that things may improve, given the fact that I’ve made some discoveries about what I want with me and surrounding me, that have been enlightening.

This illustration is, after my last sour bits, a gust of fresh air that I hope you’ll enjoy as much as I did whilst creating it. Crabs are my favourite sea creatures, and fairies I just have a knack (and adoration) for. I’m particularly proud of the environment and background in this one, as much as I was of the ‘Love Bites’ ([link] ) one, because I’ve used shades and colours that aren’t very common to my palette; and the rain has come out particulary well, as f it has just started to fall. There’s a feel of a chill around them as of cold wind, that hopefullt adds to the meaning of the title and the whole emotion behind this piece.

I hope you enjoy!

Nic.-

I'll just thank you here in this last comment you posted, Angela, for all the wonderful words you've said about my works here posted. It's always a pleasure to get to people that way with my images and make them want to say something about it. It's, after all, why I do what I do...

So, a big to you and thanks again!

I love this piece, and not just for the fact it has a giant titan of a crustacean man, but just the actually emotion gone into it.

Definite fave!

Thank you very much, m'lady! This is one of my favourite pieces from my Gallery, actually, and just because of what you said. There's a lot of emotion behind it, and the colour palette is not something that i use often, so I'm also proud of the skies and the overall tones I used.

I see you're a Warhammer fan... if you have the tine, I hope you take a peek at my works from the Dark Millenium, see what you think.

Thanks again!

No problemo', I live to splash out the complimentary on artist worth while! Funnily enough thats why I began watching you, I was all like "Woah, someone draws Warhammer fanart FINALLY." XD

Whats nice to see is that you take Warhammer in a more stylised approach, rather than the more realistic views that we see in the books and schtuff. Very refreshing indeed! (Not that the artistry in the books isn't hella cool) with some awesome marker-ness, keep up the schweet works!

Depths are good, but sometimes you have to come up for air, and I agree with you on that. Things are looking up indeed, but it's a process (as everything else in life) and so, I take it little by little...

Nothing Else Matters: not one of my favorite Metallica songs, but still a good one.

You know how it is by now: I am always blown over with that you manage to do in traditional tools what others use computers to achieve. No Ctrl-Z here!

And crabs are cool little "tank-animals". I've realized Crustaceans and Insects are perfect to study if you want to draw armour, as you avoid making your humans too stiff. Just a personal revelation...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NicolasRGiacondino In reply to Belazikkal [2008-06-24 21:21:16 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! It's certainly not one of the great songs of Metallica, but the version that Apocalyptica did of it, is more in tune with what inspired me on this image.
Indeed, no Ctrl-Z at all! No computers are ever harmed in making one of my images, which is something I'm proud of, and I thank you for always applauding it, mate.
Finally, yes, crabs are like litle tanks. And I agree on studying the insects's armour-like skin to stop from having anatomy in your work looking too stiff. The organic forms you can find in them are priceless and almost infinite.

Man, this looks good.
You know, there's a competition over at Conceptart that's called DEEP. it's been running for a month roughly, and ends on the last of June, so time is short, but you sould look it up. Maybe enter?
They have several categories:
Character, Creature, Industrial Design, Enviroment and Panels/comicpages/storyboardpanels.

The prixes are... to say the least, great. If you win a poll you get a ticket to New ealand this autumn for a Massive Black Workshop (where some of the greatest contempory artists will be around, and big companies) and if you win the judges votes you get LIFETIME VIP tickets to their Workshops...

I think you'd have a shot at winning the Panels part (unless time is too short :/ ) and it would be a great way for you to finaly JOIN CA!!! (I know, Im bitching abou it but you need to!)

Thank you for the compliments, David! It's good to see you around and still nagging me about entering ConceptART.org, heh, heh... but I can hardly anage my account here, much less be on two sites at the same time! Besides, you know I feel out of my league against those heavy-weights...

Nic.-

PS.. And of course it's New Zealand

DavidSondered In reply to NicolasRGiacondino [2008-06-26 06:40:57 +0000 UTC]

See, the difference between the accont at DA and one at Conceptart is-

DA is for being seen,
Conceptart is for being inspired, learning, getting connected to people in the biz...

There are people on CA that just arent posting for a year or so, but once they do, and find comments for their stuff, they just evolve exponentially- along with getting seen by people in the business (like Blizzard, Marvel and whatnot).
I am sure you would be one of those people...

Humor me on this please?
Just start an account and put some mized stuff in an "it's finally finnished" topic, add your info to a topic in the "artist looking for jobs" part of the forum and you will (unlike me) get work to fill your belly.

Your style is so different and so accomplished allready that it will be the push you need to get further.

If for nothing else, then for the fact that I pushed you to start a DA account and that turned out well...didn't it?

It's funny. He's a crab, but he still looks like he's wearing a suit of heavily plated armor. An exoskeleton is armor though I suppose. He looks like a crab ready for war. Excellently done. Keep those emotions flowing (for the benefit of inspiration that is).

Well, that sort of mixture between him wearing an armour and being really a crab was something that I was going for, trying to let the viewers decide which one suited them best when they looked at it.
Thank you for the compliments and I will definitely keep those emotions coming!
