Archie was creative with what they got.
Last time we see Gemarl, he was with Cream at her house at the end of Advance 3.

I hope IDW continues with that creativity; they already convenced me with MLP FIM comics. And though I can't play Advance 3 anymore and almost got the true ending, I am happy to know that Gemarl got a good redemption arc; small and to the point.

Sega of America would add the Freedom Fighters, Gemerl, AoSth characters in the comics, Sega of Japen (real Sega) Β don't care as long as they are not in the games.
