In case you might have not heard. But the Predacons actually ended up killing Starscream at the end of Predacons Rising. The creators of the show (as well as TFP's Starscream's VA Steve Blum) confirmed it.

Maybe they killed his pride? 
And even though that might be the idea, they never showed it in the series. So in a way it is still up to us to make one

Sorry, but Megatron already destroyed Starscream's pride, (it all pretty much happened in the "Rock Bottom" where they all get trapped in the cave) that's why he eventually stopped trying to usurp him all the time. And even though it seemed he had shrugged if all off and was back to his power-hungry self once Megatron went into exile, he immediately returned to being submissive once Predaking, Sky-Lynx, and Darksteel showed up.
That's true I guess, we are after all entitled to believe what want to believe.
But I look at it from a very logical point of view:
-Predaking already hated Starscream for calling him a mindless beast and being prodded by him all the time. It was only after showing him that he could transform that Starscream knew that not only was Predaking capable of killing him, but he now had a reason TO kill him.
-Sky Lynx and Darksteel suffered similar mistreatment while under Starscream's command. And it seems the only thing holding them back from killing Starscream was either their mutual dislike for Autobots or that prod Starscream seems to ALWAYS have on him whenever there is a Predacon around (if you noticed in the scene when Starscream discovered that the Predacons had disobeyed and then shocked Sky-Lynx, Darksteel tried to attack him until Starscream noticed his approach and then prodded him as well).
-At the very end when all 3 of the Predacons confronted Starscream, Sky Lynx and Darksteel were still in beast mode. And Predaking seemed to only transform just to inform Starscream of what was coming to him. So odds are he would've transformed back to beast mode soon after. So Starscream most likely was gonna get mauled to death by them (like any person would by a wild animal).
-Finally, now that the Predacons were free from Decepticon control so what exactly is holding them back from just killing Starscream?
That's my opinion of it anyway. But like you said, we are after all entitled to our own interpretations of what happened afterward.
