I took this shot several years ago, when I first had my camera, in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. It has been through several incarnations, and this most recent version has - I feel - benefitted from my increasing familiarity with photoshop. I know the photograph is far from perfect, but I've always liked it and I think that this is about as good as it gets.I haven't posted anything here for some months. I haven't taken a photograph I consider worthy of sharing for such a long time now I begin to wonder if my inspiration will ever return...perhaps with springtime....

This is vaguely reminiscent of some of HCB's work; a city from unusual angles and people framed small against the old town. It has an incredibly strong narrative; the timing was great, as without the figure stepping through the scene there wouldn't be half as much of a story to be told. Excellent work.

Lots of geometric rich detail here Nigel and I like it very much too. I especially like the light on the steps and the general tonality and agree with the others above as well. Very well seen and nicely processed too.
