The snowstorm was making it hard for Hank's flying ant to fly around, making him fall off. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending how things work out), he landed on a soft, slightly wet surface. Once he realized what it was, he quickly grew a bit larger to let Janet know he wasn't just another snowflake.
