I know this was done two years ago, but wanted to say this anyway:
Yes; we got the Smash for Switch. Unfortunately, his fate was of an Assist Trophy. However, someone shall worry not; I come from a Twitter group(?)/Discord server dedicated to Assist Trophies, as Spring Man's leader.

Nah it's all good man, at least he got some representation ingame! (same thing for Alucard & Zero T-T )
I heard that it was because the franchise is too new (similarly to Rex only being a costume)... Maybe next time, after all, I know a few characters who got a promotion from being Assist trophies or stage hazards (Ridley,Charizard)!
