Description
Wondering why you always cryWhy you always want to fly
Never let me say goodbye
Seeking help is no disgrace
Act like I invade your space
Life is not your lonely race
If you'd let yourself be weak
You may find the things you seek
Lay down your arms no need to fight
What you long for is in sight
You claim you always fear abuse
Acting like you're in a noose
I try to free you it's no use
You tell me you no longer trust
You talk to me I know you must
So don't turn away in disgust
If you'd let yourself be weak
You may find the things you seek
Lay down your arms no need to fight
What you long for is in sight
Claim you threw your heart away
Didn't need it anyway
So why'd I see your tears today?
You say that you no longer care
I think that really you don't dare
I know because of how you stare
If you'd let yourself be weak
You may find the things you seek
Lay down your arms no need to fight
What you long for is in sight
Tired of all this pointless strife
Done with wasting all your life
Time for you to find your knife
Your final moments before death
One simple plea under your breath
"Why won't anyone save me?"
If you'd let yourself be weak
You will find the help you seek
Lay down your blade no need to fight
Another savior here tonight

The chorus is just beautiful. It's one of those that almost hurts because it's so kind. Not sure if you know what I mean, but if you've ever seen someone who was totally mad just break down after receiving a kind word...that's what I envision.

Hi Matt,
WEAK was very interesting to read, as I have experienced depression from "both sides of the tracks," as it were. This song accurately presented my feelings and frustrations that surface when I find myself trying to be a friend to someone I care about, only to find they are constantly pushing me away to protect themselves and me from their depression.
I am amazed how easily this song seemed to come to you. You are blessed with being able to put feelings into words in this way. I pray you find it helpful.
*hugs*
~Sarah

I know what you mean. I've actually been on "both sides of the tracks," as you put it, quite recently. Of course, you would know that already.
Sometimes having both perspectives can be rather useful, as it lets you empathize with one while in the role of the other. On other occasions, however... I've had it just add to my frustrations sometimes.
I hope you don't have to go through either side of this song too many more times.
