sketch of a treehouseand no it isnt a swamp i just screwed the whole thing over when i did the pond-like thing
just so my hand won't rust
i need to start doing more hand drawn pics otherwise ill end up screwing my pencil skills

This should look interesting if it was a digital speed painting (painted in a similar hatching and cross-hatching manner with a use of some rough texture)...

Your proportions are a bit off. Looking at the referencephoto, you've drawn it smaller. I think its a bit wider than the drawing to go by the photo.
That said, I like the drawing a lot, and I'm not sure I'd believe the drawing if it were as wide as the photo.

using a ref doesnt mean exactly copying it now does it?

True - it does depend on whether or not you are dreawing the thing, or just using it as a reference...
As I said, I don't think and exact copy would have been believable.
