Description I'm almost done writing acid rain's lit backstory to why hes so edgy. SO i decided to start drawing the scenes to go along with it. I'm not happy with how the nest looks in here, it looks kinda like a donut with weirdly coloured sprinkles but oh well.

Man i feel like i haven't drawn in forever this feels so good!! A little chibi-ified bc in the story they are baby chicks.

~~~~~
The young harpia opened his eyes and chirruped happily. He was the second chick to open his eyes in this nest. It had been nearly a fortnight since he was born, and his sister, had opened his eyes two days before him.
"how sweet" cooed one parent.
"adorable" cooed another.
He had developed the ability to hear, far earlier than he had developed the ability to see, so he was already familiar with the voices of his parents. But now he could attach images to those voices. His mother, had a similar feather coloring as he did, she also had two horns protruding out of her head. His father, had a much lighter, almost a golden coloring to him.
They nicknamed him Chirp, as a reference to his little happy sound that he made. His sister, was nicknamed Squeak. They would use these names until they had begun to fly. This marked them as adult birds, ready to choose their own names for themselves.
Sadly, after rounds of coos and crowing adoration, his parents flew off. Adult birds needed to eat, after all. And when they were back, they would bring a little bit for their new chicks. This brought a warm and happy feeling to the little newborn chick, his baby feathers spreading happily.
Chirp turned around to face his sister, Squeak. Squeak looked at him with a weird expression on her face. Was that a thoughtful expression?
"I heard mummy and daddy talking, while we still had our eyes closed," she began. "They were talking about how we were born in the winter time, and how there was a shortage of food."
Chirp racked his brain for memory of this conversation. Having found none, he decided, that just as Squeak had opened her eyes first, maybe she was able to hear first as well. That didn't bother him much.
"Well they'll just work harder, won't they?" Chirp said, without a care in the world. He obviously did not inherit the brains of the family. Hopping towards the rim of the nest, he peered out from over to see if he could catch a glimpse of his returning parents. They might've just left, but this little bird didn't bother thinking that. All he knew that every moment away from his new parents felt like an eternity. He couldn't wait for them to be back.
"They said that there only might be enough food to feed one chick, this season," said Squeak ominously.
That roused Chirp's curiosity and he turned around, suddenly aware that his nestmate, was a lot closer than he anticipated. Before Chirp could reply, Squeak had one of her talons on Chirp's stomach, pushing him backwards.
"And that chick will be me!" Squeak snarled and Chirp flew out of the nest. Flying, was not the word for it, as his flight feathers had not come in yet and could provide no resistance to gravity. He merely fell, spiraling downwards all the while flapping his wings with a terrible sound.
I don't know if it counts as scavenging or training, but feel free to double check. Would you mind if I included this in her cannon story, just no names?
Yeah sure totally! I'm fine with having acid's name included, but rn im thinking of changing it as its TOO edgy - probs to chocolate or something or guilded. I'm 100% ok with u using it as long as it means I can still use it as training!
Well if she shoved him out of the nest before he took his own name, she wouldn't know him either way as adults lol. And their relation would just be a small facet of her history, not something she really cares to remember.
