Description From left to right, top to bottom, this is Jiyuyu and Tsurara on the first row, Zikoko in the middle and Siruru and Igigi on the bottom

What's the story behind this, you ask?

This is a picture about events that took place about ten to thirteen years ago by Keronian time on a planet called Devastis that Keron, or its most powerful country, rather, had been waging war on at the time. Devastis was once a key training planet for the Irken Empire of Invader Zim fame, the Keronians' rivals for galactic domination, but when the Keronians felled whatever government it might’ve had, it went to chaos quickly. Ten years into the initial war, the Keronian government was desperate for troops, and all new recruits were being sent to fight and die on what had become one of the most hellish places in the known universe.

About this time, a promising young soldier named Zikoko, no older than 24 at the time, rose to become the governor and head of military operations on Devastis after the former ruler vacated the position. Zikoko, at the time, was rather idiosyncratic and a pyromaniac, but otherwise a fun guy to be around and harmless. He had a very close younger friend named Siruru and an adopted little sister of sorts named Igigi, and even as a leader of a whole planet, he stayed very close to them, doing crazy things and playing wacky pranks like they always had as well as being a mentor to them.

But then he got an advisor. Her name was Tsurara, and she was from a family of high-ranking officers, tactical, cold people with short tempers and an insatiable desire for power. Like them, she was ambitious, and like them, she believed that the ends justified the means, whatever they were. Slowly but surely, she began to corrupt him, suggesting cruel and harsh policies that were eventually enacted as he became more and more like her. Drunk with power, Zikoko started enacting pointless laws and having Irken rebels, and later, deserting, rebelling or otherwise rule-breaking Keronian soldiers, imprisoned in key military bases, where they were tortured, experimented on or both.

As Zikoko became more and more like his second-in-command, Igigi started to distance herself from him, no longer able to recognize the person who used to be her brother. She urged Siruru to do the same, but he still wanted to see the good in his friend and leader, and he was unaware of the politics of the situation, or more specifically, Tsurara's part in all of this. By the time that both of them had realized how warped Zikoko had become, there was nothing they could do or say to change him back. They became close as friends and then lovers, being there for one another best they could.

This didn't change the fact, however, that they were being forced to take part in the atrocities, working in the labs on the subjects chosen for experimentation at the military base and prison of Waruba, out of fear for each other's safety if not their own.

Enter Jiyuyu, a Keronian who had joined the army in order to skip town after a nasty divorce with a controlling wife, and who had no tolerance left in him for arbitrary, draconian rules and punishments. After a short while of being a soldier and seeing what was being done in the bases, he left and started a resistance group, to which Keronians, Irkens, and the occasional Vortian or Axolotl flocked to regardless of racial tensions. For two years, Jiyuyu's unconventional, brilliant and completely bizarre plans brought success to what its original members affectionately called the Resisty, and extremely bad press to the Keronian military back home, who were for the most part completely unaware of what was going on. However, he was sold out by one of his own followers, Piroro, to the Keronian military, and thrown into the bowels of Waruba's prison system to rot.

His followers weren't ready to give up, though, even as their numbers dwindled. Months later, Jiyuyu's second-in-command, a former high-ranking officer in the Keronian army and a legendary warrior among her friends and foes alike, led the remaining members of the Resisty in a raid against Waruba in order to rescue their leader. As it would happen, this was right as one of the experimental subjects, a Keronian whose mind had been wiped and whose body had been fitted with claws and wings and put through hideous tests to make him a killing machine, broke loose during one of his "training sessions." He gave Piroro, who had since landed himself a cushy job in the labs, several scars, and mutilated what remained of his tail with his claws before kidnapping him, and poured a large vial of acid on Siruru's right arm, burning most of the forearm till it was irreparable.

All hell broke loose. Zikoko's soldiers were unprepared to deal with the rebels and the prisoners that had been released, and most of the base was either trashed or even burnt down. Siruru had gotten out quickly after his arm was wounded, but quickly realized that Igigi was nowhere to be seen, and ran back in. Not only did he rescue Igigi, who had lost one full leg and half of the other one, but he led a slew of other soldiers, guards, scientists and even enemies to safety despite his wound. Jiyuyu, in the deepest part of the underground prisons, was not rescued or killed, and was probably completely unaware of what was going on.

News of the disaster reached home, and people who had long since forgotten or stopped caring about what was happening on Devastis were horrified and outraged as more and more things started to surface after what happened. Siruru was lauded as a hero, even as he confessed to all the horrible things he and many others had done. Igigi was given prosthetics for her legs, but Siruru, offered the finest of models for his forearm, the remains of which having been amputated, refused, thinking that what happened was his punishment for what he'd done. Out of anger at Zikoko and still unaware of what was going on behind the scenes, he gave the most detailed account he could of his friend's transformation into a monster and its results. Zikoko was a good fall guy for the Keronian military, having few important connections back home and being completely unknown to the public, so he was sacked from his position as governor of Devastis and demoted from a Captain to a Lance Corporal.

However, Igigi, who had been much closer to Zikoko and saw what was actually going on, was determined to have the real cause of all of this, who was now the new governor of Devastis, dealt with. Unlike Zikoko, though, Tsurara had many connections and a good reputation back home, and used this to silence Igigi. One day, several months after having been released from the hospital and only days away from releasing the information she had, Igigi was kidnapped and whisked away to a secluded mental institution, where she was medicated and tormented until she truly appeared to be a raving maniac. With her opponent's credibility destroyed and with the masses on Keron believing that the problem had been solved with Zikoko's dismissal, Tsurara went back to doing whatever she wanted, but this time with no pesky middlemen.

Siruru, after losing his friend, his forearm and his lover, became extremely private and withdrawn for the next ten years despite becoming a hero and a legend. Though his career as a soldier was thought to be over, he trained himself so rigorously that eventually his left arm became as good as his right arm used to be, and he could use what remained of his right arm to do a few things as well. He used his experience in the labs, as well as some training from the many doctors and nurses in his family, to gain skills as a medic, in hopes that if he ever did reenter the army or anything else, he’d be able to help people this time. Ten years later, he was recruited as the medic for a newly formed platoon. The only thing that convinced him to go was the fact that Zikoko had also been chosen, and had agreed.

Zikoko, for his part, had barely escaped further punishment for his crimes, and had also laid low for the last ten years. Though not nearly as ruthless and controlling as he'd been around Tsurara, there was still a distinctive vicious streak that hadn't been there before, and he continued to justify his actions on Devastis. He earned his way up to the rank of Sergeant again, but his authorities, wary about giving him too much power, put a cap on how far he could rise at the rank of Lieutenant, and were too reluctant to promote him any further.

Tsurara continued to rule over Devastis with an iron fist. She kept a very close watch on all of her personal assistants, knowing full well the power they could have, and made sure to keep them on their toes constantly. She was eventually promoted to being a general after stabilizing Devastis as much as possible and rooting out what was thought to be the last of the resistance. Some months after Siruru and Zikoko were assigned to their new platoon, she sent an assassin with a long-standing grudge to kill one of the generals and the prime minister of her country back on Keron, and through both luck and trickery, she managed to fill the vacant position. Since then, she's been cracking down on opposition to her rule at home and furthering invasion and conquest efforts throughout the galaxy.

After Waruba burned down, Jiyuyu was moved to another, secret prison in a distant part of Devastis. Back on Keron, his friend Nukeke attempted to sabotage his transfer and get him freed, but it failed, and he was caught. Jiyuyu was locked away, and barely managed to keep himself sane and busy while in solitary confinement for those ten years. Outside, he came to be seen as an icon by rebels everywhere, be they Keronian, Vortian or even Irken, and many people tried to find out where he was being kept in order to rescue him. Eventually, he was rescued by a motley group of people who included some of his followers, Nukeke, Piroro, and, of all people, Siruru and Zikoko. However, that's another story entirely.

As to what happened with Igigi, 's description, posted with her picture of Igigi, can explain that. Go look at it!

You get a muffin if you finished all that.

Finally, I reply!

Well, I don't know if you read the story here, but Siruru finally told us of his dark secret: his girlfriend from back in the war was kidnapped and imprisoned in a mental institution for being on the wrong side of powerful people. What's worse, he knew this, but couldn't get her out. He visited her once, but she was completely zonked out because of the meds, and didn't even recognize him. She in fact tried to attack him. He left, heartbroken, and didn't return, but sent gifts and letters periodically in the hopes that she would get them and remember him.

Meanwhile, present day, his platoon leader, Jolili, got promoted to general and had to move back to Keron as such. He was made the leader of his platoon, but all was not well. After eleven years, and with little hope of ever seeing his beloved again, he had started to have feelings for his captain. How much she knew is questionable, but there was at least mutual respect. When she left, he gave her his officer's coat, which he never wore, and she finally started to realize how he felt. What was worse is that the other guy who was in love with her (more of a lackey than a lover, really), Sakeke, was going with in order to help her and her cousin, who was another general.

However, a month and a half, and one near-apocalypse for Persona City because of the Keronian military later, Jolili switched sides, forsaking her position of general in order to fight for her friends and allies on Persona City. She started living there again after the crisis, and, oddly enough, developing feelings for Siruru. By this point, though, he had gone back to Keron with the help of a few of his Persona City friends and rescued his old girlfriend from the mental hospital, defeating the corrupt, lewd and evil Dr. Kegaga in order to do so. After the medicines wore off, she indeed did come to her senses and remembered him, and, though scarred for over ten years of torment, was a lot better for it, taking him back without any resentments. He was happy and she was happy, but then there was Jolili. And to make it worse, Sakeke had massively pissed her off, and then went and got his arm blown off in a fight with Jiroro, who had explosives on his side, so she was in no case going to take him back (or so we think...).

So that remains currently unresolved. But whatever happens, it will be interesting.

Well, all I have for now is that there was some weird Jolili/Siruru interaction last night. And Jolili is massively jealous of Igigi... not quite to the point of stabbing, but still no good. D: We will continue this tonight.

D: Well, it's here.... what happened was that Sakeke ended up getting a job at the knife shop that Jolili frequents (specifically for that reason, mind you), but Jolili came to visit to buy a knife.... one to kill Igigi with. Seeing as Sakeke didn't want Jolili to end up with Siruru, he tried to convince her not to, but she wouldn't listen.

That night, she waited for Igigi to come into her room, grabbed her and put a damp cloth with chemicals on it over her mouth, causing her to pass out. She was about to kill her when Dororo (hired by Sakeke as a counter-assassin) stopped her and pinned her to the wall, questioning what she was going to do and how she planned to get away with it. She tells him that she was going to kill Igigi and frame it on Sakeke so that Siruru wouldn't know.

After this whole thing comes out, Siruru himself walks in and thinks that Dororo attacked her without reason. Dororo explains some of what happened, but hides a lot of it for Siruru's peace of mind. Jolili makes up a story that Igigi had an episode in which she thought she was back in the mental institution and took her, Jolili, for being a doctor and tried to suffocate her with the soaked cloth, and Jolili had to use it on Igigi in self-defense. Siruru reluctantly accepts this explanation, and Dororo is too torn to set things straight, so Siruru lets her go.

Dororo tells Sakeke, however, everything that happened, including how she planned to frame him. Sakeke becomes depressed at this, realizing that he still loves her despite how much she despises and disrespects him. Shortly after, though, Jolili comes back to the knife store to return her weapon, telling him (without knowing what Dororo already said to him) that he was right about not killing Igigi, and she changed her mind about the whole thing.

Siruru, meanwhile, has no idea what to think about Igigi OR Jolili now. D:

I baked some the other night. @_@ Along with these kick-ass peanut butter cookies. They're all gone now. Mom couldn't resist them and ate all of the second batch.

And I don't doubt it. o.o With him being overshadowed like that, the proportions must've been hard to do...

Thank you very much! Megan and I have fun making stoofs up.

The fanfic that I've been writing with Zoruru in it has a lot of fan universe stuff in it. Including tons of Siruru, at least in the first part (though he's a lot younger then, but you'll get to see how he develops). I'm glad you like him, he deserves lots of appreciation after all that's happened. :3
