Suddenly I felt the urge to paint a second one. And I had much fun with it!

I got some interesting comments about comparing this one with the first and most folks think the composition in the first one is better (me thinks so too.

I like how this one connects to everything, from the cat to the dragon back under into the lava and then back up to the cat. It's like a little oval pattern, which is nice to look at the detail that way.
That and this one seems brighter

Yeah, since there's no actual movement in this pic I tried to create some tension by means of sharper contrast and brighter lights.

I think I like the layout of the first one more than this, as mentioned before it has a more exciting look to it. But this one has richer color and is also well done.
They're both great, but I'm gonna stick with the first one as my favorite.

It is hard to judge which one has the better features. Both of them are very well done and they both have amazing colors, composition, details, etc.
This one particularly has a very erratic background because of the flames and lightning, which looks really cool, giving it a moment of tension betwen the dragon and other creature.
The 1st one has a lot of movement and you can see the location where the two characters are, and the fire and lightning don't take much of a main role here to show the characters better.
They both are amazing.

I tried to give both pics individual features, even though they should actually show the same/similar scene. I didn't want to produce a simple copy of the first one, so I decided to remove movement of our two sweetys there and create a dramatic background.

I like he other one better because of the dynamic pose of the dragon. Dynamic always wins. This is more like the moment before both or one attacks and if I were to put them in an order I'd think the other pic is a follow up to this one.

That's what I thought, too. But first pic is first pic, cannot change that. I never mind the order, I just paint what comes to my mind.
About the dynamics thing, I guess you're right, dynamic wins - at least in images like those.
