EDIT - 4/1/17: Edited the picture to fix glaring issues.The actual picture, as well as color scheme itself is terrible, but I was bored so I decided to make a pony from base.
Her name is Garish (because her colors are not optimal for MLP, I admit it), and while she loves to paint and considers herself pretty good at it, she has a bit of difficulty on color schemes. Her grass comes out pink, her skies yellow and her water pea green (EW! lol). But she loves doing it, because she's always found traditional rules laid out to be too constrictive, especially for art!
Since her cutie mark is a paintbrush, her talent is technically painting, but in a strange way.
She'd probably be saying to the art critic right now, "Come on, you know you like it." while he's struck speechless at the ghastly color nightmare on her canvas.

Oh, don't be so hard on yourself, the design was fine, but your skill to make it come out was a little weak. Maybe you can try using the line tool to make straighter lines, and you just kinda have to study how perspective works to get the layering of the mane better.
