Enjoy the horror of Sparkling Vampires, Werewolves, angsty girls and giant alien robots that turn into vehicles!
Because they go so well together?

I've joked about Starscream Sparkling but I wasn't serious!
Screencapped because you ought to know that it exists.

He is?
I haven't read past the first third of the first book to be honest.
Wouldn't it be confusing for the cross-over though?
"Sam is a werewolf"
"He is?"
"No not that Sam the other one!"
"...Humans need to stop giving each other the same name! It's confusing as slag!"

It boggles the mind doesn't it?
I only want to know...why. Or what possessed these authors to make serious hybrid stories of TF and Twilight.

Mercury43 In reply to nightshade43 [2011-08-14 15:40:32 +0000 UTC]

Maybe the lack of any kind of ideas...
Probably they just througt it could be funny to put something like giant robots (Which are awesome withut that...werid, sick writters) with something so dumb as twightlight...) with a lame ass "romantic" story (Real vampires dont sparkle) just to say they are "originals".

Maybe they "are" because they discovered and exposed the real meaning of decay...

And if they were serious, they are jut sick...really sick.

Now we'll have nightmares of Seekers sparkling.

though I always wondered if Edward would turn into glitter instead of ash if he got slayed...

And I thought there would be nothing stupider than the Azumanga Daioh/Twilight crossover.
At least it's not as bad as the Transformers mpreg story.

nightshade43 In reply to quamp [2011-07-26 07:01:40 +0000 UTC]

I have no idea what Azumanga Daioh is but I'll take your word for it.

Yeah m-preg scares me to be honest. I'm alright with slash (more the fcs/fcs than canon characters) but m-preg was something I never got outside of obscure comedy sketches.

It's a Japanese anime set in a school. Everything is very cheerful yet funny. When they meet up with Twilight, every Azumanga Daioh character becomes pretentiously angsty, making all of them out of character.

That's a shame. I would have liked to see a bubbly Twilight Cross-over. Just as a contrast.

Yeah...it's pretty bad. XD
I've joked about TF characters being the equivilant Twilight characters (like TFA Sunstorm or Starscream being Edward).
But the cross-over boggles the mind XD

I don't know...maybe it's like Rule 63, but instead of sex it's about making weird cross-overs.

I said something to someone about Deadpool being a Sparkle-Slayer and desperately want that to happen.
Even the X-men weren't safe from the Twilight cross-over.
And to think I found this page on a Transformer forum.

*bangs head on desk*

The more I think of Twilight, the more I realize how stupid sparkling vampires from twilight are. No lie: I watch just to see the shirt-less werewolves.

The books were okay.

But GODDAMNIT, why put them with Transformers...? *whines*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nightshade43 In reply to LaVolpeFemmina [2011-07-21 05:51:18 +0000 UTC]

Haha the werewolves get most people through it.

Couldn't get past the first one to be honest. I liked Edward's hate/tolarating Bella relationship, and to be honest having them as friends would have been great. But then Meyer did what most romance novellists do...write a popular concept and stilt the characters.
I wanted to know more about her Dad darn it!

I don't know....maybe they can squash the vampires? Or run in blind terror.

YAAAY!
The crazy fans need a Fusion-cannon wake-up call.

Though not the casual fans like my sister XD
She points out that Edward could have been a cooler character if his sarcasm and cheeky personality was pointed out instead of the romance.
She's a sucker for star-crossed lover stories.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vertigojockey In reply to nightshade43 [2011-07-21 06:00:48 +0000 UTC]

Honestly, a lot can be said if the sane fans or just people with more creativity than the original author can do better things with a story than the author can.

Then again, Meyer is obviously not much of an author at all if she can't finish a book. Writers have to read. And if she writes a vampire book without reading Dracula completely she's just doing it wrong.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nightshade43 In reply to Vertigojockey [2011-07-21 07:07:54 +0000 UTC]

...She didn't even read Dracula!?
That was one of the literacy Greats (along with Black Beauty and White Fang) I read when I was eight! To do a vampire you have to understand the book that got the craze started. Or at least look into the creature you're using. Especially if you want to do a butchered romance on the creature.
Dracula works because he's all about the charm though still killed people and was generally monster.
Lestat worked despite being a messed up guy because he still acted like a vampire.
Edward acts like a teething cat, not a creature of the night. I like the idea of a vampire that can go out at day time but it has to be handled carefully.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vertigojockey In reply to nightshade43 [2011-07-21 07:14:51 +0000 UTC]

She actually read a few chapters, but gave up on it saying it was "icky". Forsrs.

Additionally, Dracula could go out in the daylight, he was just weaker. The fact that vampires can't walk around in daytime was just something that was hammered out by later literature.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nightshade43 In reply to Vertigojockey [2011-07-21 08:08:33 +0000 UTC]

Then I wouldn't advise her watching 30 Days of Night or just about every horror movie with vampires.
Dracula isn't that 'icky'. Or is it the lack of vampire/Human romance that is 'icky' for her?

ah, yeah you're right. I guess I've seen the lack of daylight vampires around that the perception stuck on me

Vertigojockey In reply to nightshade43 [2011-07-21 08:17:31 +0000 UTC]

Considering she's pretty brain empty anything that doesn't fit into her sexual fantasies about vamps probably counts.

*patpat* Its fine.

Nightmare Fuel right there. I've seen and read vampires-as-partners working, but for the most part I can't wrap my head around it.

Thanks.

What 'classics' have you read when growing up? I tried reading Great Expectations but the writing was extremely messy. I know the author wasn't highly educated but it's hard to read a book that's so different to what I'm used to.

I've obviously expanded on my reading since then XD

nightshade43 In reply to Vertigojockey [2011-07-23 11:10:15 +0000 UTC]

Ah XD
Roald Dahl was great! My favourites are James and the Giant Peach and The BFG. The Twits was horrifying but fascinating XD
I read quite a lot of books when I was little.
His Auto Biography was also a good read. He was a pilot at one stage (barely making it as one as he was too tall)

Vertigojockey In reply to nightshade43 [2011-07-23 12:50:08 +0000 UTC]

He was wasn't he? I'm turning 22 and I can still enjoy his books.

You enjoyed those two too? The Witches and Matilda stood out more though.

I didn't read his Autobiographies though. That's something I think I should have done.

nightshade43 In reply to Vertigojockey [2011-07-25 10:37:10 +0000 UTC]

Children books aren't as creative as his ideas. At least the younger children books. It's all about quests and super powers and spies now.

The Witches I remember feeling dissapointed in the ending, only because it was bittersweet. Such an improvement to the movie though.
Matilda was heaps different again to the movie version. Personally I preffered the movie for the ending.

There are two versions to his autobiography. I think the main difference was the way he crashed the plane (originally the army tried to forbid him from saying it was the plane malfunctioning).
I thought it was fascinating to read at the time, though when I was younger anything non-fiction rose my interest. His childhood in particular is interesting.
I better stop typing now XD
