"Ugh, why did the pegasi have to schedule a storm for today?" Rarity said. "I have to meet Pinkie Pie at Sugarcube Corner... and it's terribly rude to be late to see a friend!" She looked out the window at the pouring rain. Then there was a knock at the door.
"Coming!" Rarity opened the door with her magic and there stood her friend Rainbow Dash.
"Hey Rarity!" Rainbow said.
"Hello, Rainbow Dash. Can you kindly tell me why there was a storm scheduled for today?" Rarity asked, more than a little annoyed.
"Rarity, spring is here! We have to schedule a storm so that the flowers can grow!" Rainbow said. "But anyway, I came over to show you this necklace I found. I don't really know what it is, but it's really fancy. I thought maybe you'd like it." The pegasus opened up her bag. Rarity didn't want to admit it, but this was the first time since Rainbow had arrived that she had noticed the bag.
"Got it!" Rainbow pulled out a gold coin on a silver chain. Rarity was impressed.
"Ooh! That is fancy!" Rarity said, admiring it. Rainbow smirked.
"I knew you'd like it!" the pegasus said. "And it's got a special power: Some unicorn enchanted it so that the bearer is 20% cooler at anything they they want!"
Rarity stopped. "Really?"
"Yeah!" Rainbow flew down to the ground and started swinging it in front of Rarity's face.
Rarity started to get dizzy. "Rainbow, what are you doing?"
"Doing this unlocks the power." Rainbow replied.
Rarity frowned. "It doesn't seem like you're doing any better at anything, other than annoying me."
Rainbow ignored the jab and continued swinging the necklace. "You are getting sleepy..."
Rarity suddenly felt really tired, which didn't make sense, since she had only woken up two hours earlier.
"You are getting really sleepy..." Rainbow said, while continuing to swing the necklace.
Rarity's eyes closed, and she began to snore. Rainbow laughed.
"My, my, Rarity. How unladylike!" Rainbow said, mocking her friend. "Now... you will go outside, without your raincoat or any rain protection. You will go out and play in the mud... and you will enjoy it." Then the pegasus clapped her hooves.
Rarity's eyes snapped open, and she ran out the door without a second thought. Rainbow followed her, and soon saw Rarity hopping in a big mud puddle next to the Carusal Boutique. Sweetie Belle, who had been playing over at Sweet Apple Acres and was now returning home, saw her sister jumping in mud with no protection. The filly's jaw dropped.
Rainbow noticed Sweetie Belle staring at them and flew over. "Hey Sweetie Belle. Don't be scared. Rarity's just having fun."
"Rarity... mud..." Sweetie Belle kept staring.
Rainbow laughed. "Don't worry. She's completely fine... just a little bit... muddy."
