This idea is based on one of the files you can find in Chris' campaign in Resident Evil 6. It speaks about Leon and Chris meeting for the first time, with Claire as the one who established the contact. The wiki states the time of the meeting was in 2010, which is not in the file directly but since some information are often found in the Ultimania books (which I don't have), so I just decided to role with it.
