“Claire! There’s something I have to tell you!” Leon panted, while he looked for another clip for his Desert Eagle in the tactical vest he wore. The ground and the once green grass of the city park had degenerated to a brown and muddy substance, that was slippery like hell and the rain didn’t make things easier. Leon and his girlfriend Claire Redfield – a field agent of the BSAA – were soaked to the bone, while a pack of mutated dogs – Cerberus as they were called – were closing in on them, teeth bared and growling wild.

Claire didn’t turn around, while she replied. “You’re out of ammo?” she asked, panting herself while she planted a bullet in the head of a deformed Dobermann. She was wielding two guns simultaneously now – something she had learned from Leon. This kind of movement was trained by government-forces... not the BSAA.

Leon shook his head – a little bit suprised. “No – are you?”

This time Claire turned around. “Nope!”

“What I wanted to say...”

“You know a way outta here?”

Leon blinked. “Not exactly,” he replied with a rised brow.

“What do you want then?” asked Claire, as she replaced the clip in her Browning HiPower with a fast movement of the hands.

“If you would let me finish my sentence, you would know,” Leon answered slightly annoyed, while he looked for something in his vest.

“Alright – hurry up then! Theses things are closing in and actually I wanted to be home again for dinner – Chris is making breaded chicken!”

“Again?! Don’t get me wrong, my Honeycakehorse – I love the breaded chicken of your brother, but is that the only thing he can cook?”

“Actually yes!” Claire replied. “You wanted to say something, than do it!”

“Okay, okay!” Leon dropped to one knee, took a – surprisingly still – white jewellery box from his vest and opened it. A golden ring sparkled in the light of the moon. “Claire Michelle Redfield – I love you! Will you marry me?”

One moment Claire stood there – eyes big like the sun – with a more than unbelieving look on the face, while the four Cerberus came closer and closer. Leon waited a second, then he took aim and fired one bullet straight through two Cerberus Heads... and caliber 50 Action Express was even for the mutated dogs too much to handle. That brought the starstruck Claire back to reality and she took care of the last two dogs. A defeaning silence followed, as Claire fell to her knees in front of Leon, wrapped her arms around him, whispering one word over and over again, while tears of joy spilled down her face.

“Yes.”
