Exhausted Leon leaned on the cold wall of the hotelroom. The night was getting chilly, but because of the fever Leon didn’t feel the cold. It would have been a miracle if he had been able to get through the sewers and the Umbrella-facility with a bullet wound in the shoulder without getting an infection. Claire, Sherry and Leon had made it to the next city and taken a room in the first hotel, were they assumed that no questions would be asked. Raccoon City was all over the news and Leon’s uniform was like a flashing sign in the night. Leon had taken a few painkillers they had found during their flight through the facility, but they could only dull the burning agony in his shoulder. Claire had redressed Leon’s shoulder and the long cut on his forearm – Leon didn’t even know where he had gotten that one – before she took care of her own injuries. Sherry had been dirty like hell, but otherwise unharmed.

After that, Claire and Sherry had thrown themselves on the bed – Claire with something that sounded like: “Showering is for pussys!” and slept soundly since then. Leon couldn’t sleep. The pain kept him wide awake, beside the fact that he would have stayed up to watch out for unexpected visitors. He wouldn’t have been able to sleep anyway – he would have seen the faces of those he had shot all the time. He would have seen the monsters, Umbrella had created... he would always see Ada’s face. He had failed to protect her... he had tried. But he had failed... and you would fail a second time, because he knew, that he couldn’t stop Claire from searching her brother. He had asked her to wait a few days, until he had made contact with a few of his friends from the academy and his family to ensure Sherrys safety.

But Claire didn’t want to wait – Leon knew that in two days Claire would be gone – off to Europe to find Chris. And he wouldn’t be able to follow her – not without leaving Sherry alone. And Sherry was to precious. Leon knew that Umbrella would be after the girl – like the devil would chase a poor soul. Leon sighed and looked at Claire. She was sleeping like a stone, but they all needed the rest. Only heaven knew, what would come...

A quick picture and this time I stopped before I messed the lights up completely. I have a picture in the edit right now, where I had to reset the lights around ten times until now – and I’m not even finished.
