Claire’s arms slipped around Leons shoulders, despite the fact that the Agent had his bandaged hand still pressed into the broken mirror and that the position was bending Claire’s back uncomfortably. Claire could hear the shards crunch, when Leon made a small movement. “You know, that the mirror has probably been the only real innocent thing in this whole affair.”

“I don’t blame the mirror for what has happened,” Leon replied in a low voice. “I blame the man, the mirror is showing for everything!”

Claire needed a second, but then she understood what Leon meant... and reacted in her own special way. She loosened the grip on Leon and then hit the back of his head – hard enough that Leon’s chin crashed painfully into her back. “And what could you have possibly done different?” she asked, trying hard to ignore the agony she just brought onto herself. That would get a nasty bruise.

Leon snorted. “I could have let Chris doing what he had intended to do!”

“What?"

“Kill Radames!”

“And you are absolutely, positively sure that this would have changed something?” asked Claire and her voice was harsh.

Leon blinked, then he wriggled himself free of Claire’s embrace. “What do you mean?”

“Haos was released, despite the fact, that Radames was already dead,” Claire said. “What makes you so sure, that the missiles with the Virus weren’t timed? That they would have been launched with Carla dead or alive? Carla’s Javo weren’t normal Zombies, you know that. They could think! What makes you so sure that they didn’t have the order to launch the missiles when Radames didn’t return at a certain time?” Leon blinked, unsure what to say. “Maniacs like Radames or Simmons always have some kind of back-up!”

“But still...”

Claire shook her head. “No but,” she replied. “It’s late – let’s get you home.”

“What about Chris?”

“Jill will take care of him – she’s used to this.”

Claire took his hand and lead him out of the room...
