Well when I'm painting my mom's present I take a lot of photos during the process, and I decide to make a simple watercolor tutorial, but is in spanish because in DA you can find a lot of tutorials in english but in psanish not xD Sorry!------------------------------
Mientras pintada el regalo de navidad para mi madre fui haciendo fotos del proceso, al final decidi hacer un tutorial de acuarelas sencillito del todo. Como hay pocos tutoriales en español por DA adelante ya sabeis que prefiero hacerlos en mi lengua materna para ayudar a los que no se manejan bien con el ingles como yo cuando llegue aqui xD

Well this is a translate of the texts in the tutorial:
Welcome to my first watercolor tutorial, I explain to you step by step how I color one of my watercolor illustrations and I use my last work process photos for illustrate it... First I transfer the draw to a watercolor paper, in this case I use yellow carbon paper, I use this color because once colored you can't difference between the lines and the colors.
The next step is begin to color, normally I start with a base soft color, making the color much watery for less color intensity. Then I use the color with less water (more intense) for put the first shadows and making some volume in the differents elements of the illustration, like in the green part of the dress.
Later for add more volume I add more shadows with a darker color, for add a sensation of deep. I make this process with all the elements of the illustration. Watery color, first shadows with the color withput all water and put more shadows with a darker color.
With the hair my process is a bit different, I add some clear water in a zone of the hair for make this zone more lighter like if this zone was a reflect of the light, in the image you can see a light brown zone in the brown hair.
Later with the base color of the hair we remark the hair tufts for make more volume on the hair. I usually add some touches of a dark color for remark some tufts and make more volume.
I usually left the background for the final, but you can paint it before the charas, each one make it different. I use a product for reserve white zones, like the flowers and other details in this case, using this product I can painting the background witouh fear. I choose a pale blue for background and a darker blue for some details. For making this type of decortion I use the paper things that the pasteries usually puts under the cakes.
And finally the eyes and the final touches. For the eyes I use a light color for the base and then with other color I make the details, first I use this color for details watery and then with the some color without water I make the darker part. I add some white touches for gain more expresivity.
In this case for make gain a touch of christmas thematic I use white acrilyc for make the splashes, for this purpouse I use a big brush to make it.

With the skin I mix yellow and red to make some pink-skin color, first I apply a light version of this mix and then a dark version for make the shadows in the skin. Maybe it's complicated to understand when I explain it with words TT^TT

Todo es cuestion de practicar, seguro que si le dedicas tiempo a practicar podras hacer cosas mucho mas bonitas que esta!! Mi madre normalmente tampoco le hace caso a mis dibujos, de hecho suele decirme siempre que malgasto mi tiempo en dibujar, que deberia dedicarlo a otras cosas xD

aunque yo no seria capaz de pintar con acuarelas... soy un desastre y la liaria mucho XDDD
en fin.. explicado asi parece más facil, aunque se ve que tiene un rato de curro....

Si que lo tiene, 3 dias enteros mañana, tarde y noche, solo paraba para comer, ir al baño y ayudar a mi abuela. Lo de que el color es suave si miras la foto [link] en realidad no es tan suave, pero las fotos del tuto estan hechas con el movil y se ven fatal y el escaneado pues que voy a decir, se cargo los colores por completo xD

Puaf, ya me conozco esto, es horrible escanear una acuarela xDDD Yo soy tan friki q ya me aprendí de memoria las deformaciobnes d color q hace mi escaner, de forma q cuando lo paso por el putoshop ya solo tengo q mover eso y queda mas potable (aunq nunca como el original, argh!!) xD

Si, yo con el escaner de mi padre lo paso fatal, no me pilla nada bien los colores, el que tengo en mi piso es mejor, pero como no estoy alli pues jodida me quedo xD En la foto se ven los colores vivos que corresponden xDDDD Esos dias fueron chunguillos, me acostaba a la una y pico y me levantaba a las nueve y poco, ainssss >-

Mi horario se debia mas bien a que estaba cuidando de mi abuela que se cayó en la calle y tiene el brazo chungo, entonces seguia su horario, solo que mientras ella echaba la siesta yo pintaba la ilustracion xDDDD
