Description
Name: Venus BulbLocation: forests and jungles, they thrive in warm/mildly humid climates
Rarity: Occasionally seen
Size: the bulb grows to about 9 inches tall, a foot in diameter, and the mouth/stem extends about a foot
Taste: the bulb has thick yet tender meat that tastes like fillet mignon, the roots have pretty much the same taste but a tough like jerky
Danger Level: Low-Medium
Poisonous: *only to insects, birds, and some small animals (not a very strong poison)*
Any extra traits: the roots are what makes it mobile; it can't move very fast. It migrates if its habitat is getting to cold, too hot, if there's not enough food etc. Also, it is bioluminescent during mid-late summer, when *it releases spores for reproduction.* Petals/mouths/pistols can differ in color.
I was kind of just thinking of different plants, trying to think of "animal-like" plants. And... I thought of a venus flytrap. From that, I basically made it evolve, made it look how I thought it would if it were a fennedible.
Now, I like this little bugger. I put a lot of thought into how it was put together and how it would work. First, the way it eats. *Much like a venus flytrap the Venus Bulb is carnivorous. It eats insects, birds and sometimes small animals. When feeding, the bulb opens up and the mouth and stem extend. The mouth opens and secretes a poison, which pools in the mouth. This poison is like a false nectar. Insects and birds will smell it, or notice the colorful petals around the mouth, and come to feed; only to be paralyzed. The mouth will shut after the poison takes effect and retract back into the bulb to begin digesting the meal. The digested food (in the mouth still) travels through the stem to a network of veins inside for energy. The Venus Bulb can perform photosynthesis, but that does not provide much nourishment for the meat.
*Second, the pistols and stamen remain outside of the bulb even when it's shut. It reproduces through pollination/sporing. The pollen contains tiny spores which require pollination in order to from a complete zygote (there's some biology for ya 8D). It broadcasts (more bio terms 8D) the spores and pollen to float, kind of like dandelions, and fertilize with other Venus Bulbs' pollen and spores. The fertilized spores land on the ground and begin to grow 8D The miracle of life! And since they glow at night during "mating season" they are sometimes called "Light Bulbs" when lit up.

Wow I love the way you rendered this and the fact you took the time to add a background XD ho ho... I'd eat one
sounds yummy
I think it'd be cool to see one moving around. I love the way it eats and hunts, very well done at combining plant and animal traits. So well thought out, too, like reading an article on foreign plant life
Thanks for entering I'll add this Fenn to my journal~

Thank you so much n__n
I wanted to try giving it a background, even though I don't feel that I'm very good at them XD
It was a lot of fun coming up with the little traits and such n__n
Thanks again.
