Description
This concept should illustrate what next Microsoft Windows could be like. You see a rework of the desktop environment. So for example the Charms Bar, which has been introduced with Windows 8, is further developed. Now it is locked on the left side and you are able to pin quick accesses for apps, devices, programs etc. It replaces the known Windows Taskbar. Additionally there is the Sidebar re-integrated on the right side. Pinned apps and programs are displayed in this area. Moreover the File-Explorer has some new features like tabs.I would be very grateful if one or the other could give a feedback. If you like my concept, share it

This looks nice, But I reckon it needs to have a W7 style taskbar + start button, but redesigned so its minimalistic.

Let me just make this clear, it looks awesome. But if the whole point of Windows 8 was to introduce Windows to tablets, then why make it all small again? It looks great for desktop and laptop, but not for tablet (unless there would be another version for them)

I agree with you that the surface shown here isnβt really touch optimized. But even the current Windows 8 desktop environment itβs not really. It works, but it doesnβt work really well.
In my opinion the compromises that must be made due to touch and non-touch based devices, are a basic problem of Windows 8. No matter how you do it, either the Tablet or PC user isn't satisfied.
Therefore I made the button sizes small again. So at least the users of traditional desktop have an optimized interface for mouse and keyboard.
I think that I will develop additionally a concept interface for touch-based devices for Next Windows in the near future.

Well if the iPad icons are small, then it would be perfectly fine for other MS-based tablets, just no live tile thingy, but that doesn't matter since there will probably be a notification center.

Actually I think you should re-brand it (cos microsoft are never gonna look at this sort of thing anyway - it's sad) and make it into html5 (a bit like this [link] ) and then maybe even make it into a linux os if it gets popular enough (if you're feeling lazy doing that just make it so it boots into a fullscreen browser with the local html page). Hope this helps!

Thank you for your suggestions. I like your ideas and I definitely keep it in mind. As soon as there are a sufficient number of interested parties, I will deal with the implementation. At the moment I havenβt enough time to do it. Apart from this, I have no knowledge in HTML or in the implementation of Linux themes until now.
