Description January 27th is International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
I've been seen, learned, and read about Holocaust since around 9 years old. Those have been giving huge fear for me till now. I will never forget all of what I saw...almost trauma.

This oilpainting is an image inspired by the song from the album "Dehumanizer" by Black Sabbath (singer is Ronnie James Dio). Strangely(?), whenever I listen to that album I always associate Holocaust. Even though "Dehumanizer" is a masterpiece and my favorite album.

We all have these events - the memories, other people's memories, our own, the images we have seen, what we have heard - branded into our brains. This is like seeing it all from a new perspective. Thanks, it is  strong good work. Hard, but good.

Thank you for the comment!
I've been seeing many images of those darkest moments, have been reading about the experiences of people who were living in that era. As you said in the comment, those hount my(our) memory.
I cannnot explain why my favorite Black Sabbath album make me recall it. But I guess my synesthesia make me to recall memories.

oh thanks, I do understand this. Music is such a powerful trigger of memory as well as emotion. A beautiful song can evoke a horrific memory, it is often the case. ANd the reverse can also be true. Thanks, and all best wishes to you.

What an interesting oil painting.  The first thing I thought of what that it looked like some sort of smoke-stack spewing oily smoke into the sky.  It feels like a very somber painting, I think the almost sickly yellow sky emphasizes that.  It looks quite textural too!

Thank you for the comment! (Sorry for the late reply, I have a lot of works which must be  finished till the end of the March.)

Yes, this work is somber painting. Because the source of the image is a synesthesia from the song "Buried Alive" by Black Sabbath.  The shape looks like smoke stuck, flying flake, and the yellowish color, all of these were what I "saw" in my brain while listening that song.

The falling fragments are a bit like hopelessness ... but strangely beautiful.

Thank you!
My policy for making works is "do not make disgusting image if the theme were".
