As the other animals drew closer to the little cub, some still baring their fangs and reaching out with sharp claws, Shiva growled softly and stood behind the cub, flaring out her wings to protect her. "Come if you dare, you will feel my fangs! This child was lost and alone, she can do us no harm!" While Shiva stood bristling, the younger canine sat trembling, not knowing what to do.

"No harm?! We don't know who this child is, we've had no word of any brothers or sisters for years. We are all that's left! This must be some Soulless trick! We should kill her now! She's already seen the heart of our territory!" One called out from the crowd, a fat white and black sabertooth cat, she glared heatedly at the cub, her single blue eye cold and unfeeling to the terror the child felt.

Shiva growled again, extending her wings and moving them to wrap around the child, bringing her close. "Rhonnie, I know it's been a long time since we heard from any of our Tribemates, but this is a child! I cannot turn my back on her, not when I know the dangers she could fall to. True, I do not know where this child came from or who her parents are, but I will NOT leave her to die!! She is one of us and that's all I need, now if any of you still want to challenge me then step forward. I will fight on this little one's behalf!"

For a long moment, everything was still, the tiny black pup peeked out from Shiva's wings, seeing that some of this Tribe was still uneasy, still doubtful, Rhonnie more so than everyone else. However there was one who stepped forward, a strong looking male wolf with smaller antlers than Shiva and fur as black as the night, broken only with fur as bright as fire. The others bowed their heads and backed away as he walked, even Shiva stopped growling and dipped her head a little. "Brother..."

Brother?! The little female whimpered softly as he came closer, flattening her ears and trembling more as Shiva continued to do nothing. But why?! Wasn't she prepared to fight anyone over her just a second ago?! Why was she suddenly doing nothing? As the male stopped in front of them, Shiva finally moved, laying down and wrapping her forepaws around the cub, looking up at the male pleadingly.

"Please, Brother, don't make me send her away. She wouldn't last one day, not with the Soulless prowling around and some of the more dangerous humans about. She is our little sister, proof that others are out there. We are not alone, we're not the last."

As silence reigned between the pair, the cub looked up at the male with big, scared blue eyes and the male stared back. "Shiva, this cub...she won't replace Aidan..."

Shiva flinched hard at that and bared her teeth slightly before forcing herself to calm down. "I know that." she muttered softly, looking away. "But she needs me. Brother..."

The male sighed heavily and shook his head, turning slightly away before looking at Shiva and then the rest of the Tribe. "She can stay, but she will be watched. In time, we'll see who she is really is." After looking down on the cub one final time, the brother turned heading for his den and soon enough the others turned away as while, soon leaving Shiva and the cub alone.

Shiva watched then before looking down at the young cub, giving her head a comforting lick before getting up and picking the girl up by the scruff to carry her to the sleeping den. Most were already there, giving Shiva and the cub small glares and concerned looks but the tan Ghoul ignored them all and headed towards the back where Shiva placed the young one down on her own nest, curling around her soon enough.

"Do not worry, my child. They will learn to accept you though you must work hard to gain that acceptance. I will always be with you. You are mine, mine to me and nothing will separate us." As Shiva spoke, the cub snuggled closer into her warm fur, listening to the older wolf's strong beating heart. The stress of everything was finally getting to her and the pup could barely keep her eyes open. But before she could fall asleep, she had to tell Shiva one thing.

"Thank you, for protecting me. My name is Senka."

Chapter 3: Lost and Found: Ch3 Truth and DeterminationSlowly, Senka began to open her eyes, she felt warm and well rested. Letting out a yawn, she stretched out her body before suddenly jolting fully awake. A small distance from her, there was a mass of silver fur belonging to a fairly big bat. Looking around, Senka saw other animals with a slight whine of fear, she realized that she was dreaming. Everything that had happened was real, Senka whimpered softly and unintentionally moved closer to Shiva who was still lying curled around her.
After a few moments, Senka forced herself to calm down when she realized Shiva was starting to stir, quickly the young pup put her head down and closed her eyes, pretending to sleep. Shiva gently nudged her before licking the top of Senka's head. "Come on, my dear, it's time to wake up. There's much we have to discuss and there might be little time to talk." With another, somewhat harder nudge, Senka then felt herself being lifted by her scruff. She couldn't pretend anymore and stayed upright when placed
