Looks like Raph is spending "me time" thinking about some things that are not as lighthearted as spending a summer day propped in a tree. We all need times away from everyone and everYthing to take a good honest look around us and inside us. Appears that is what Raphael is up to.

I tried to do something new there, since I rarely color the sketches without inking.

I draw in pencil, then ink digitally. Using real ink is SO scary, I would be so stressed out about making mistakes!

hahaha XD you get used to it.
when I started was I stressed out too and every misshaped line or splotch of ink on the paper was like the end of the world for me, but I got pretty decent over time. You just learn to live with mistakes (and white them out to draw them again or clean them digitally afterwards 
Using ink has always its disadvantages and you can mess up a picture really badly, but it teaches you to deal with failure the hard way, forces you to more patience with yourself and you become more calm about messing things up, because there is always a way to fix it.

I was like "YAY! LEAVES!" but then did I just put halfheartedly spots of white over everything. It looks surprisingly good for that though XD
