Description
Name: Gaiste (said like 'gay-st')
Age: Unknown; young.
Breed: Aquiletan mare.
Sire/Dam: Unknown
Relatives: Half-blood sister to Saoirse.
Personality: She once was rather like her brother but she changed greatly during her captivity. She became a cold, aloof uncaring mare who cannot understand the meaning of love. It is hard for her to talk to others, and she finds being alone is better than company, most of the time. However, she cannot stand to be alone, as it reminds her of being locked away where none can get to her, and pain.
History: She was born wild but caught as a young mare. The humans kept her chained in hobbles and her mighty wings pinned at her sides, and due to this she is only just learning how to fly. She bears a striking scar across her eye from tangling with the humans, in which she tried to escape and wound up being half-blinded in the process. She was kept chained up for years on end, only unchained for either work, or show. She was a prize of the humans who had caught her and she won them many-a-ribbon though her fierce pride was never broken.

It was only after the humans made one simple mistake; they forgot to chain her up. They knew she was intelligent but it was their error that lead to her being freed; she opened the doors and she ran.

Hair will never again grow around her fetlocks where she was imprisoned, and she will never have sight in her right eye again.

She bears markings like flames, nothing like her half-brothers swirls. They have the same sire, but different mothers. Gaiste knows Saoirse from her childhood but she hardly recognises him now.

It took her a long time to find her home again and when she did, she arrived in a flurry of madness and anger. It took several days for her to calm down, and now she is cold and short, hard to talk to. While she was not badly abused, being kept in solitary confinement away from everyone in the dark played tricks on her own mind.

But part of her is overjoyed to be free, to stretch her wings and fly across the land, and be with her fellows again.

Woo! Gaiste My last Aquiletan, and one I'm actually really happy with, the markings finally worked for my brain.

Photoshop chucked a SPAZZ the first time I did this, so I was not impressed with it. It kept itself alive the second time though, yay.
