Gingerfur is a queen unofficially. She is to unstable to be a warrior so she stays and helps with the kits, She met a tom and they fell in love and had one litter of kits in late leaf fall. only one kit in the litter survived. he lived for a while but he froze to death in the first frost. The medicine cats at the time did there best to try to save him but they were to late. She however believes he is still alive, she watched him grow up into a warrior, his name being Smallstep. Most cats want Sparrowtuft (the med cat) to do something, make her let go or forget her son in the first place, She makes the queens uncomfortable when she talks to her son like he's still around often telling kits about him and when they ask she points out at what seems like nothing. to her her son is standing there proudly eating a pigeon he caught or snoozing.
