still lying in the leaves
of the plant that used to grow
all around your body
all around your soul

tenderly you tell me
it will be okay
although I know I'm leaving
the leaves belong to stay

and one leave, I took with me
if not entire branch
coming back as I do
to forest, street and bench

it will be a different feeling
and leaves no longer grow
I put them in an ageless vase
of shining indigo

we are changing together
still do we stay the same
the painting is now waiting
to be put in its frame.
