stranger 15; together with stranger 14 & 16 at that plaza in-between two museums; alstadt, düsseldorf (germany), 2nd of October

this is astrid. astrid has a skeptical eye-brow that suits her skeptical personality. basically she was the first person every questioning what I was doing; why I'd take pictures of strangers, out of what reason. she lives in an almost empty flat with not too much furniture nor decorations because it's easier to think straight this way. she likes grizzly bear, and she wanted to look french this day. well that was meant ironically, but deep down in her heart I bet she wanted to. she's getting old already, but with the age there is something wise awaking in you, isn't it)

part two;

as I approached them, again a little nervous, they didn't look at me as confused as others had before; actually, they were all smiling in some way and it made the situation for me heaps easier. I explained to them what I was doing, and I think this was the first time of all times that I got it right on the first try, that I said exactly what I wanted to say and kind of explained it to myself once again ... and I was completely honest, and that felt good. I figured, especially for this project, if you are just completely honest to the people and to yourself, you can't really doubt yourself as much afterwards; eventually, you were "real" and didn't try to produce any image of you, so if they liked it, that's fine, and if not, then it shall be this way.
