My husband played it and loved it; He also played the sequel. You actually had to think on how to solve the puzzles while not leaving the girl unattended for too long. If you did the shadows would try to get her. Hence the dragging the girl through the forest, reminded me of that. The girl seemed like a burden sometimes when trying to progress through the puzzle.

You were wondering if the title is correct, well that depends on what
you meant to say. What were you wanting the image to say?
Also, I shall have my fun with this image.

NikolasBrummer In reply to ContagiousPixie [2011-06-07 19:41:26 +0000 UTC]
If I translate it right, 'burden' is something that makes you move/act/think/feel slower, heavier, it so to say lies on you and makes everything harder.
I know, although I edited quite a lot, I didn't want to ruin it since I am so picky about editing lately.

ContagiousPixie In reply to NikolasBrummer [2011-06-11 03:38:36 +0000 UTC]
Oh alright, that would be the correct word then.
Somehow it doesn't seem to fit with this image...
I think a better word might be "struggle" so
"the struggle".
strugΒ·gle/ΛstrΙgΙl/
Noun: A forceful or violent effort to get free of
restraint or resist attack.
Verb: Make forceful or violent efforts to get free
of restraint or constriction.
It doesn't necessarily have to mean that though.
It could just as easily be "I struggled with getting
my dress on today."
If anything maybe a little more dark tones? It feels
like it's meant to be a bit darker of an image, but it's
still quite light. Or am I interpreting wrong?

NikolasBrummer In reply to ContagiousPixie [2011-06-13 19:00:22 +0000 UTC]
That sounds like it would work out, too, although I am not quite sure. It's more rather a mental thing which just makes everything quite difficult for you than something which is actually violently and direct.
I wasn't quite sure about dark tones ... when I add a vignette, the image looks weird to me and I end up rather not adding it. But a dark atmosphere would have been great, I was dreaming of an atmosphere like in [link] with a little more green, but it's hard to accomplish that, very very hard.

ContagiousPixie In reply to NikolasBrummer [2011-06-13 21:48:06 +0000 UTC]
Oh also, it's just... when I or someone I know says burden we mean it as... hmmm. It almost suggests you're calling the girl a burden to be dragging along, you know? At least when I hear the word that's what I think. A burden is something more like a really heavy backpack you have to carry and it hurts your back a lot, but you have no other choice but to still keep carrying it. But if you like it! I just thought I'd let you know.

NikolasBrummer In reply to ContagiousPixie [2011-06-14 05:41:17 +0000 UTC]
Hm, that's most likely what I wanted to say, actually. On the one hand, we both have some mental disorder, some memories that keep pulling us back to the start, but for this story, I seem more ... alive and aware of what I am doing than my friend, the girl. That's why I keep carrying her with me.
Quite dramatic story.

I may be reading too much into this, but is it saying that our human bodies are the burden? As in we have so many things we want to accomplish in life and so many places to go, but our bodies have our limitations. That's what I got out of it.
π: 0 β©: 1
NikolasBrummer In reply to Azalea21 [2011-06-07 19:42:16 +0000 UTC]
That is a nice interpretation, but towards the whole story of the shooting, it's not what I intended to say.
But actually, everyone shall make their own mind up about it.
