Description This is a mixed media mastercopy I just finished today as a warm-up, inspired by [link]
I should point out that I used, as a reference, a large library book with a much higher quality print. And removed Deinira, completely changing the sinister intention of the original. Mainly because I just wanted to focus on the centaur's anatomy.

These classical fables that these paintings depicted were truly something.

Really like the anatomy. Compared to other centaur images Ive seen its pretty accurate although if youd compare the size of the human body to the actual size of a horse...it must be a pretty big human lol. Still you did a pretty good job there!

I'd have to agree that this technique was used very often when depicting Heroes and Gods.

Amazing!

I've read that comic book artists use the technique of downsizing the head to make the body more superhero-like, and I wonder if the same thing is done here.
