It is hard to say if I feel joy reading about Elric, his saga reads kinda like the Greek tragedy of old, a mortal whose fate is doomed by the devine powers without having any chance to avoid his predestined future.

He is one of the most fascinating figures in modern fantasy imo, an albino prince with weak health but a powerful sorcerer wielding a demonic sword that sucks souls and feed him,a really tragic and tormented character actually. I highly recommend you check the comic book adaptations of his novels by P.Graig Russell.
