Hrafn

previous < | >Next

No sooner had he recognized the strange aura in his realm than did he find himself swiftly released from whatever hold held him immobile. Hrafn fell to his knees, gasping and wheezing as his pain ebbed. He stayed there like that for what must have only been two minutes, but it felt like an hour of desperate gasps. His eyes had been screwed shut against the pain but, now that he was at last free, he allowed them to open a crack. A sliver of blue caught his attention, which forced his eyes wide.

Water, vibrant blue water that glowing with an intense light of it's own. As if it had consumed the moon itself. It flowed around him and over his blood-stained - blood stained? - paws. Each lap washed away more of that cursed red fluid, each droplet dissolving and vanishing as if it had never been there. He watched it with awe, slowly getting to his paws and observing the current as it suddenly changed. It rushed before him, swelling and curling around his paws to greet him. No longer was it passively collecting the filth from his form, for now it welcomed him eagerly. To what, he didn't know.

Fascinating.

He raised a paw and took a single step forward, eyes on the waters as they flowed. With that one movement, the shallow sea nearly completely parted. It was an action that startled him, his legs instantly braced to the sides to prepare from an attack by an unknown assailant. The attack he readied himself for never came and, instead, the dreamscape he had found himself in changed. Water droplets that had been disturbed by his movements floated almost motionlessly in the air - held aloft perhaps by the same mysterious force that had held him. The pooling tides had moved ahead of him, their glow illuminating an all too familiar sight.

An old tree from his old home, massive and gnarled, with water and lillies sheltered within it's roots. It stood as he remembered it, only this time the water glowed with the same bizarre light that the waters here radiated with.

A feeling of comfort and peace washed over him, one he'd not felt in a ages.

This is another thing I forgot to upload - started very early this month and I added some touches to it a couple weeks ago with lighting.
These are a lot easier for me to keep up with than comics. Too bad comics tell much, much more of what's going on. They're just way more intensive than I have the capacity to work with at this moment. Maybe some day I'll finish those projects I've started.
Again, please be aware: This is a DREAM. There's no magic, no real otherworldly anything. Dreams are weird, kids.

Thank you, Tazi! ;v;
I tried something new, it was kind of a struggle to get it the right shade of blue.
