Here's a drawing I did for [link] . I've never actually done a zombie concept before but this was actually pretty fun to do considering I'm absolutely terrified of them! (I'm like one of those people who'd be the first to die in a zombie apocalypse because I'd never leave my bomb shelter. )

I think the first thing I thought of when I was trying to decide what type of rot and wounding (as he had to die somehow! ) was: shrapnel. That is one of the main ways my clones get wounded so I figured that I would do a sizable blast wound and some shrap to boot! I did the left side of his body as though he had some sort of explosive or machinery blown up against him, cracking his armor off and shaving the flesh off his side down to the ribs. I stayed away from any entrails as that is just really nasty and would only allow him to rot even faster if there was a hole directly inside of him. I tried to show how there was still skin and muscle attached to the bones (even the broken one ), but it's kinda hard to tell.

I also did burn/scrapes on his shoulder and the good portion of the other side of his head. I also thought it would be interesting if he could have a mechanical arm, or what's left of one. Therefore it would function as a kind of snare as the broken pieces of metal are very jagged and could tangle in clothing or flesh. I also partially severed his ear (also kinda hard to tell, my bad. :L ) like when he got rocked by the blast he tore it when he hit something. This concussion could also explain his twisted stance.

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with this. Best of all, I like the expression on his face. I didn't want him to look angry or savage. Instead, I made his face look almost dumbfounded, kinda like a dude who just got blasted by a grenade. I think it's creepier when the zombie faces aren't showing much expression. I like the idea of zombies being instruments of an infection or something so they're kinda left in the state they died in, with only the body parts used to infect others left open to reanimation.
