W A T C H I N G D A W N

"When you feel that deep, shattering doubt within, that steals away the heart of the present and deafens the openness of the world... take a moment to go outside, watch the clouds pass, and count your breaths. There's proof that you're here, in this exact space and time."

Morning's approaching light set against an earnest locale. The nights are long with many days especially dim down in the valleys of lower elevations. Residents are grateful to catch the rays with ease, out and away from the long hours without.

When I find too much clouding my mind, I sometimes go out to our backyard deck. I find watching the sky to be as much an inspiration as it is allaying. A lot of these times, thoughts surface from thinking too much of the future or looking back on the past. There's sorrow and happiness that may be found thinking of both; and yet, it can take away our focus from the moment we're in now. They may not truly be valued until later down the line, the priceless times to be found in the now. It often feels like a constant battle between "staying present" and the thoughts that come back! Just trying to put thoughts to words again- if you read this far, thank you^^
