Inspired by [link] me and aniki started thinkin about what characters we'd place in each season, and this is what we came up with:Autumn: Eiri, because it's really pretty to look at, but at the same time sad and depressing.
Winter: Touma, because when you look at it from a distance, it seems good, but when you get close, you realise it sends shivers down your spine. It follows on autumn, and it never seems to leave. Prolonged exposure may cause death.
Spring: Sakano, since it always comes after winter, but never is quite steady. It's not quite what you were waiting for, but it's still kind of nice when it gets there.
Summer: Shuichi, because you always miss it when it's gone, but when it's there, you remember what's annoying about it. It's nice, but tends to get too intense.

You know, now that I think about it, I think I might do something with the characters like this, but with the elemem=nts rather than the seasons.

I think Murakami intended for Tohma to have that connection to Yuki (Snow) Kitazawa and Eiri Yuki. Even though the kanjis are all different (none of the Yuki kanjis mean snow, but the word does as you know).
