This has a very northern european feel to it, its different enough for it to stand out while being familiar enough for people to relate too. Nice linework and good colour choice.
The only thing i do not like are the faces of the creatures, buts that a personal taste, so, all in all top-notch stuff. ^_^

I think this is really beautiful and stylistically almost playful. Your style reminds me a bit of one of my brother's favorite childrens book (something with these big nice monsters and a little boy). I love the wide range of textures in this. The colors are beautiful too and really set the tone. Great work!

You know, I think this is artwork is rather unique. For such a scene, I would expect the monsters in the background to have the clichΓ©d βevil eyesβ as they stalk her from the forest, ready to jump out to scare her. But instead they see her depressed and seem to feel bad for her, so they watch her go by rather than scare her.
Itβs humorous in way to see such an unexpected twist to such an idea, and the monsterβs eyes really make me chuckle because of this. However, at the same time itβs also kinda sad and especially so with the wisp of the leaves in the wind and the choice of duller, more softer colors for this piece. But what impresses me the most, is that youβve managed to hit hard on one of the aspects that makes art great β your artwork told a story without speaking a word.
Even if my interpretation isnβt exactly what you had in mind, the point is that I managed to get a detailed story from a single picture, and without any text. That right there is truly excellent, and paired with the outstanding sense of emotion portrayed, Iβd be plain nuts not to 
With a piece like this and βThe Kiteβ, I would not be surprised at all if you became a famous childrenβs book illustrator. Maybe even the writer as well.

it's very beautiful, wonderfully characterized and coloured, it reminds me of a ghost story i read when I was a little kid.. welll actually it was a compilation of stories by the guy who wrote scary stories. but one of the stories included a kid who was driven home by a guy. The kid left his scarf in the car with the guy. When the guy went to the kid's house to return the scarf, he found the kid had died 3 years ago.
In any case this picture is probably a tad more lighthearted than that and I think it's a wonderful piece of work.

Awww... I love the tenderness of the piece... She does indeed look as if she is so alone, and so lost in her loneliness, that she can't even see that she has friends waiting to comfort her. The entire composition carries that heavy feeling, the sense of 'the end' - the autumn setting, the small lonely pathway... They worked wonderfully together. I really like the style of the piece, the character designs. They remind me a little of something I might've seen in one of those lovely children's stories. Very beautiful.
