Very nice! I especially like the NES and SNES carts, but I think the upper part of the N64 cart needs a bit of work; the top looks rather jagged, and I think the curve is a bit off... otherwise, this is flawless.

Hey, thanks much for the feedback and the fav on this. I had been thinking the curve on the N64 cart looked a bit off, but no one else had said anything about it so I wasn't sure. I'll go revisit that here soon. Thanks again!

Right now, I'm zoomed in on it in MSPaint and I sorta see the problem... for one, there were some "jaggies"(uneven curvature, hard to explain with words), and the top was all one color, with no anti-aliasing(I noticed you managed to do this entire piece without using any, actually, and I'm surprised how smooth it all came out. I think this is because of the boxy nature of most of the carts, in contrast with the round top of the N64 cart). I will provide a link to an example picture I have made improving the top of the cart; It is by no means perfect, but it is antialiased and "un-jaggied" to the best of my ability:

Try to observe how I edited the top of the cart, and compare it to your own. I hope I helped out!

To be honest, I'm quite ignorant in the ways of pixelling. Now, I've heard of anti-aliasing before, but I have no idea what it is (goes and looks it up now). I do like that improved picture you've got there and I'm going to look at it closer in direct comparison to mine to sort of get an idea of what you did. Once again, thanks a lot for your time in helping me to understand pixel art, I'm always open to criticism so as to learn more.

Most Anti-aliasing you see today in graphics are automatically made by programs, but it's done by hand in pixel art. It's purpose is basically to give the illusion of a higher resolution in your work, and it "obscures" the size of your pixel.

What do you think of this revised edition? I took some pointers from the one that you did and then went at it. [link]

I think it looks great, and much less jagged than the original!

Ah, ok. I also took a look at Mr. Gas' tutorial on anti-aliasing ([link] ) and found out that I have in fact been doing that in some of my more recent pixel escapades (the kart avatars I've been doing). I had just been applying simple shading rules on this work, but I see now how it could really help things on more curvaceous objects. I'm going to take a shot at updating the N64 cart.

That tutorial helped me out, as well.
Yeah, the other carts look really well, even without the AA.

Well, while I was at the N64 cart, I decided to update them all. I just uploaded that deviation.

hey thank you
I see you are particularly fond of N64, how well do you think I did on the N64 cartridge?

Very accurate well done. Now you may want to try boxes from some of those systems to go with these. XD That'd be great. By the way, check my gallery I just added something you may like.

Yeah, I've been working on a gazillion different pixel art projects at once lately. Haven't been able to 100% any cause I keep switching my focus between them, hahah. I definitely want to do the systems at some point as well as some boxart/"colored-in" cartridges.
