I finally came up with the perfect contest idea
this idea is gonna be challenging but i really wanna see your guys's ideas!
the concept this time is;
design me an oc duo (2 ocs that go along with each other) without just reverting colors/patterns
ive been dying to see a duo done well without just reverting the colors/contrasting colors (like ones black and ones white) you can give em similar face shapes or similar outfits but i want each character to be unique but you can still tell they

The Prince & his Knight

A war, or was it a coupe d'etat, that found these two different souls together. Karma was a knight serving his kingdome out of poverty, with a long-standing hatred for the royals it was clear he didn't want anything to do with his work. Zeek was a prince born into a divided family, a child with a gift from the eather. The people rose up, an inside source revealing all the royal family's information. When the battle broke out, the castle was destroyed, the escape pods were quickly shot down to ensure no one would survive. When checking the wreckage, Karma would find the Prince, alive.

Instead of killing the child, he took him away.

Years pass, as the prince travels the land with Karma as his silent teacher. The reality being, rumors of the prince being alive have spread over the continent and the new ruling faction want the kid dead.

Zeek seeks to unite the broken people from the new regime, and with his new-found abilities, he just might.

Left (the Knight): Karma
Right (the Prince): Zeek

Karma Design facts:
- this man is selectively mute, partially due to the scars, partially due to an oath he made to himself for Zeek's sake
- will stab first, ask questions later.....unless Zeek is around- doesn't wan the kid growing up violent
- the story behind the scars is one explained by his hatred of the royals
- he wears the helmet as a replacement for his lost horns, losing horns in this world's culture is a disgrace of the lowest kind. He rarely reveals his true face to anyone except Zeek and guards the helmet with his life

Zeek Design facts:
- blue blood, a clear indicator for royalty...doesn't really help when you're being hunted right? The kid developed an ability to change the hue of his skin so that his blood can look like a ruddy red instead to hide his identity. If he gets anxious or angry however, it'll definitely show through
- he developes the power and the runes on his face and arms as he ages
- fur is SOFT

General made-up alien species info:
- think of an ape+rabbit+meercat cross.....plus fluffy mane, who doesn't love those
- clawed fingers, rough skin pads that allow for climbing, opposable thumbs, and even those they are primarily bipedal they can go on all-fours for travel/climbing
- general fighting style is karate
- must have horns, losing the horns is a big disgrace
- they get their life energy from the core of the planet they reside on, the futuristic society that developed on the planet rely on this power source, however borrowing the concept from a race called 'humans' (original right) they called that energy magic
- think medival times meets spaceships and advanced tech, that's the general society
