I don't wanna seem rude or offensive or something, but deviantart as a community doesn't really appreciate art as much as it should, and it's because of the cheap prices. You worked a lot on this cutie, and it looks flawless, why would you sell him for 5 points (aka 5 cents), when there are people out there selling bad sketches for 5 dollars USD??Β
I used to put small prices like that on my stuff as well, and I still have to edit some prices into higher, but someone opened my eyes one of these days on how much art really is worth, and how much it hurts the price expectations in these communities if you do something for so cheap. I know it's painful when people tell you that "you should lower your prices" when you put a real price on them, but if we keep selling our art for so cheap we will never get what we deserve, and we take the opportunity from others as well. It hurts the whole art community. And then people will expect us to work for almost free.
I hope I didn't offend you or anything, I just really want to see you get what you deserve, and maybe I feel the need to help people realise these things so there isn't this lack of appreciation from people in the community.

The reason why I make my adoptables and commissions extremely cheap is because I donβt consider my art that good and I donβt believe adoptable should cost that much since anyone can make an OC
Yes, I do believe I deserve MUCH more. Iβve seen people with art with a level lower than mine make their commissions 100+ points. I donβt want to sound like an attention seeker but honestly I REALLY think I deserve much more. (That means online, school, Society, etc) A lot of things seem really unfair especially online. I see more joke art than INCREDIBLY good art get more attention.

And it's not just making the OC, but also how the art is created and you're really talented!!
It's kinda shit us artists don't get that appreciation we deserve. If I were as good as you I'd probably sell it for more. Maybe da isn't the best place to promote or sell art and commissions, even if you decide to keep a DA account as a portfolio/gallery of your art. I personally use Facebook groups now and people there are willing to actually pay even in money for a good art like yours. I'd say an oc like this is worth $3? because it's simple. But a more complex oc can be worth over $10 or more. I asked someone what price should I ask for my commissions and I was told $8 minimum. And my art is not the best. Well, never got money yet, but I get many commissions.
